  • Nearly three years after their divorce was finalized, Kim opened up about how Kanye’s “mental breaks” led to the end of their “toxic” marriage on the Oct. 15 episode of Call Her Daddy.

Keeping up with Kim Kardashian just got a bit easier, thanks to her latest guest spot on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast. During the October 15 episode, Kim opened up about the end of her “toxic” marriage to Kanye West nearly three years after their divorce was finalized.

The SKIMS founder, who shares four children with the Grammy winner, shared what led to the end of her seven-year marriage with Ye and how his mental health played a role in her decision.

“Just not feeling safe, you know, not even physically, just like maybe emotionally or even, you know, financially,” she explained, before revealing a bizarre habit he allegedly picked up during his “mental breaks.”

“We had, like, five Lamborghinis, and I’d come home and they’d all be gone if he was in an episode. And I’d be like, ‘Oh, wait. Where’s all our cars? Like, my new car?’ And it would be like, oh, he gave them away to all of his friends,” she explained, adding, “I didn’t know what you’re gonna get when you wake up, and that’s, like, a really unsettling feeling.”

“People can say that there was, like, signs and maybe I wasn’t paying attention to them,” she shared, “And I think when someone has their first mental break, you know, you wanna be super supportive and you wanna, like, help figure that out and you wanna really get into that with them and be there for them.”

She went on to explain that her ex wasn’t “willing to make changes” that she thought would be “super healthy and beneficial” for their family. “It makes it really hard to continue on in a relationship that can be toxic,” she said. “When you have kids, it’s definitely harder to leave than it is to stay. And it changes everyone’s life forever.”

In February 2021, Kim filed for divorce from Kanye to prioritize the well-being of her four kids, North, Saint, Psalm, and Chicago.

“Once my mental health starts to get affected…then I can’t parent the way that I need to, and I can’t be present and focused. Then, there’s gotta be one of us that can, and I had to save myself in order to be a better mom for everyone. And I think when everyone’s older, they’ll be able to understand it and see that all,” she said, before revealing she had no regrets in her relationship with the “Bound” rapper.

“An over-a-decade relationship with four beautiful children is not a failure,” she concluded.
